The executive who for years only sold stocks decides to change course and makes the largest insider purchase in the company's history?

Introducing $PRCT - Procept Biorobotics

Today we delve into the world of surgical robotics, which has recently undergone a real revolution, where one of the players is Procept BioRobotics, trying to make its way with its unique AquaBeam system.

This is the world's first robotic system to receive FDA approval for surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The company's big innovation? Aquablation technology.

Instead of using heat that can damage healthy tissue, the system uses a fast and precise water jet to remove tissue, which significantly reduces the side effects known from traditional surgeries and allows for better patient recovery.

Towards 2026, the company identifies several growth avenues to expand its operations:

Expanding insurance coverage: One of the biggest challenges for medical device companies is obtaining payment approval from insurers.

Currently, PRCT is in the market penetration phase, so any positive update from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or private insurers could be a catalyst for growth, and vice versa.

Complementary FDA approvals: The company is actively working to expand the system's use even for treating more complex medical cases, which, according to the company's aspiration, will increase the potential target audience for its technology.

But what really caught our attention is the recent move by board member Antal Rohit Desai, a senior executive at the company and a known player in the healthcare financial world.

Desai, in addition to being a board member at $PRCT, also serves as a partner at the investment fund Deerfield Management, a fund considered one of the most influential investors in biotechnology, and pulled out his personal wallet to make an insider purchase of $PRCT shares worth $10,000,000.

No small sum for a private individual.

When we checked the timing against history:

First, we examined Desai's insider purchase history:

We found that he made only one insider purchase since the company's IPO.

This purchase was made very close to the IPO.

Desai held the shares for over two years, and on 4/9/2024 he began selling aggressively.

A simple calculation we made: Desai began selling the shares he purchased after a return of about 130% on his holding.

In fact, for two years he sold and sold until he sold most of his holdings (out of over 400,000 shares, he kept about 35,000).

And then, the turnaround?

On 03/25/2026 the company reports quarterly results; the results missed estimates, both in earnings per share and revenue.

$PRCT stock reacts with declines of over 30% at the peak of the intraday drop, thereby completing a decline of more than 80% from its all-time high.

Later that same day, the stock price sharply corrected, as many investors likely believed the low price became attractive to them, and the stock price rose 22% from its daily low.

In the following two days, the stock price continued to rise, and in fact, within five trading days, it rose by 40%.

Desai? Still watching from the sidelines.

And on 3/5/26, when the stock price corrected downwards for the first time from the recent low, he purchased.

Over the next 3 days, he made 7 different insider purchases for a total of over $10,000,000 at an average price of $24.6 per share.

The timing of Desai's insider purchase makes us wonder what is causing him to buy shares for such an amount, especially now?

We are monitoring.
