Trump removed China from the power grid - and these are the companies that might celebrate

After the US administration declared a national emergency regarding power grid security, the truly important question arises:

Who benefits from the move?

Because if the US is going to restrict foreign electrical equipment, and in some cases even replace equipment already installed, someone will have to supply the equipment, build the infrastructure, and operate the systems.

And this time it's about a critical infrastructure market, not another round of tariffs.

1 GE Vernova - $GEV - one of the most direct beneficiaries:

The company is active in power grid equipment and transformers, and this year completed the acquisition of Prolec GE, which operates manufacturing plants in the US and produces power transformers, distribution transformers, and components for electrical infrastructure.

If the US needs to replace foreign equipment and increase domestic production, $GEV is exactly where the money is expected to flow.

2 Eaton - $ETN - an electrical infrastructure giant:

Eaton provides electrical equipment, protection systems, power distribution, and automation.

It benefits not only from replacing existing equipment but also from the larger wave of grid investments needed to meet the demand from data centers, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing.

This is not a pure 'Trump' stock - and that's precisely why it's interesting; it has a growth engine even without the order.

3 Powell Industries - $POWL - here we delve deeper into the equipment itself:

Powell manufactures switching systems, medium and high voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, power distribution equipment, and control systems.

Simply put - if the US is upgrading substations and replacing old or foreign equipment, much more than just a transformer is needed.

All the switching and distribution systems that connect, protect, and control the flow of electricity are needed - and that is precisely $POWL's niche.

4 Preformed Line Products - $PLPC - this is perhaps one of the most interesting exposures for those looking for the 'nuts and bolts' of the power grid:

The company $PLPC manufactures hardware for transmission and distribution lines, including connectors, support components, insulators, protection systems, and components used for the maintenance and upgrade of power grids.

It doesn't need to produce giant transformers,

It simply needs to be a supplier of the hundreds of small components required for the grid to function.

5 Quanta Services - $PWR - here we move from equipment manufacturers to those who build and install the infrastructure:

Upgrading transmission lines, substations, connecting new facilities, expanding grids, and installing new equipment.

Quanta is a key player in US electrical infrastructure, so if grid investments accelerate - it could be one of the biggest beneficiaries.

It doesn't necessarily sell the transformer - it profits when someone needs to install it.

And remember - Trump's move is not just a story of 'removing China'.

It creates a huge need for new investments in the US.

If foreign equipment is restricted - more domestic equipment needs to be produced.

If existing equipment needs to be replaced, new equipment must be ordered.

If the demand for electricity from artificial intelligence continues to rise - the grid needs to be expanded.

And if the grid becomes a strategic target, control, security, and management systems also need to be added.

In other words, behind one order lies a whole chain of opportunities:

Transformers - switching equipment - grid components - protection systems - installation - data centers - infrastructure security.

Therefore, the most interesting list is not necessarily of those who produce the largest and most expensive product,

Sometimes the biggest beneficiary is the one who sells the small parts that go into every substation, transmission line, and transformer.

And this is where $POWL and $PLPC come into play.

Additional tickers to watch - $FIX $STRL $IESC

Trump may be closing the door on Chinese equipment - but for American equipment and grid component manufacturers - he has just opened a new door of demand...

The market is chasing AI chips, but without transformers, circuit breakers, connectors, and insulators - even the smartest GPU in the world remains an expensive piece of silicon.
