Trump signed a new policy that signals a dramatic shift in the American space market: the US aims to increase launch and re-entry capabilities from 178 events in 2025 to over 1,000 launches and re-entries annually by 2030.

This is not another speech about 'conquering space'.

This is an attempt to turn space into commercial infrastructure on an industrial scale.

Note the numbers - 178 - 1,000+.

This is an increase of more than 5 times within four years.

For this to happen, the government cannot simply tell companies 'launch more'. The entire road leading to space needs to be built: opening federal lands for new launch and re-entry sites, identifying a new federal re-entry site within 90 days, accelerating launch and re-entry approvals, shortening environmental procedures, allocating communication frequencies, creating shared infrastructure with private companies, integrating space activities into the air traffic control system, prioritizing launch corridors in airspace.

In other words, Washington is trying to solve the bottleneck not just on the rocket side, but on the side of all the infrastructure that allows the rocket to reach space.

And then comes SpaceX

This is where the story becomes much more interesting.

In 2025, 178 launches were recorded in the US, and SpaceX performed 170 of them according to the data provided. 170 out of 178.

This is no longer a 'leading player'.

This is almost complete dominance.

At the same time, the company is aiming for an enormous future launch rate.

If the US truly moves from 178 to over 1,000 launch and re-entry events per year, SpaceX is not starting the race from the first line.

It is already on track.

But this is where the story that interests investors begins

This move is not just about rockets.

It can open the door to the entire value chain of the space industry: Rocket Lab - $RKLB, one of the interesting public players in the launch sector, with increasingly broad activity around satellites, space systems, and infrastructure. AstraNova - $ASTRN, exposure to the space industry through systems and components for space missions. Intuitive Machines - $LUNR, one of the prominent companies in lunar infrastructure and robotic landing services. Redwire - $RDW, develops components, systems, and infrastructure for spacecraft and space missions. Virgin Galactic - $SPCE, exposure to commercial space flights, although this involves a particularly high-risk profile. BlackSky - $BKSY, active in observation satellites and space intelligence. Planet Labs - $PL, operates a satellite constellation for collecting Earth observation data.

And the important point: not every one of these companies is a 'good space stock'.

Some are very speculative.

Some are still far from significant profitability.

And some may only benefit indirectly from the process.

But this is precisely why the story is interesting.

The policy directly connects the commercial industry to the American Moon and Mars program. Goals include returning American astronauts to the Moon by 2028, building initial lunar infrastructure by 2030, and expanding the use of commercial transportation services to the Moon and Mars.

This means a change in the model: instead of the government building every system itself, it wants private companies to provide an increasing share of the services.

The government becomes the customer. Companies become the infrastructure providers.

And this is exactly where investors need to start thinking beyond the rocket.

Because if the number of missions jumps severalfold, the one who profits will not necessarily be only the one who sells the rocket.

Money can also flow to those who sell: systems, sensors, communications, propulsion, electronics, ground stations, software, satellites, and landing and operating systems.
