The sign that shuffles the cards?
Dear traders and investors,
This year we are experiencing one of the most bullish periods in stock market history
And this week something dramatic happened
The Hindenburg Omen is back
One of the most dramatic signals in the world of technical analysis, the Hindenburg Omen, recently reappeared in the S&P 500 index, and whenever this happens, the market holds its breath!
This omen signals an extreme divergence in stock behavior, with some breaking to new highs, while others fall to a one-year low.
This phenomenon indicates internal market confusion and often appears before sharp corrections.
What do historical data show? (according to SubuTrade) The table in the image examined the last 30 occurrences of the Hindenburg Omen since 2018...
And the results are particularly interesting:
One week after the omen: the market fell by an average of -0.38%, but 63% of cases were still positive.
One month after: an average decline of -4.09%, and only 30% of cases ended with gains.
Three months after: an average decline of -6.38%, in only 23% of cases was the market positive.
Six months after: still negative, -6.28% on average.
But one year ahead: surprisingly, the average reverses to a gain of 6.18%, with 80% of cases positive.
Meaning, this omen tends to signal volatility and declines in the short term, but not necessarily a trend change to a bear market.
In the long term, history actually shows a recovery.
The Hindenburg Omen is a warning light, not a prophecy.
It indicates that the market is entering a sensitive state where rapid declines may occur, but it is not necessarily time to flee, but rather to understand that risk has increased and market liquidity is being tested.
Like the ship after which it is named, the Hindenburg, the market can appear strong and powerful, but sometimes a small spark is enough to ignite a large fire.
And the big question?
Even in a historically bullish market like we see today, will the Hindenburg Omen prove its reliability?
Or will the bulls continue to run despite everything?
