Tesla's next revolution?

How close are we really?

The numbers are starting to be revealed, and the big picture is becoming clear:

The hardware price of the Tesla Optimus Gen 2 is currently estimated to be in the range of $50,000-$60,000 per unit.

At first glance, this sounds expensive, but experienced investors examine things in depth and see them a bit differently:

When the hardware metric stabilizes in this range, it is a clear signal for a path to mass production.

We are seeing here exactly the same learning curves that reshaped the cost structure of electric vehicles.

Why does this change the rules of the game?

Most of the cost currently comes from components that Tesla already knows how to produce at massive scale.

The meaning is simple: as volumes increase, the base cost will plummet, and the software layer will become the company's monstrous profit engine.

We are witnessing the early stage of a product that will eventually be cheaper to operate than hourly human labor.

Cut and save: The full timeline for the Gen 3 robot

The coming months are expected to be critical - these are the anticipated milestones:

End of November (now): Key suppliers complete delivery of complex parts to North America. Assembly begins.

Before Christmas: Assembly of the initial stock of the test version.

Note: The expectation is for a demo video to be released during the holidays – aiming to serve as a potential catalyst for public awareness.

End of January: Completion of the dexterous hand module test. This is key to the robot's fine motor capabilities.

February: Final approval for the mass production version and transition to final tests. Notifications to suppliers about start of production (SOP).

March: The big milestone. Tesla gives final approval for the design and executes SOP.

August: The real thing begins – official mass production, and the unveiling of the supply chain partners list.

Tesla is trying to replicate its success in electric vehicles, and therefore it is building an ecosystem of cheap and efficient labor.

The coming year will be the test of this vision in reality.
