Star Wars 0.2 ✨🇺🇸
Second post
In the previous post, we described the sequence of events with the establishment of the startup that seemingly renders Musk's ingenious creation obsolete, and Musk's attempt to defeat and crush the startup. 🩸
- A battle that initially seemed easy for Musk's cash monster against a small startup. 💵
But then the 'engine noises' started..
It started with the 'sudden' realization that Musk needs to launch new experimental satellites to test if his technology even works...🤝
But listen to how it continues..
It continues with the following report: unlike ASTS, where the system is already ready for operation, Starlink requires a software update for smartphones.⚠️
- Musk needs Apple, Samsung, and Google for this to work.. 🤳
🔍 Starlink – dependence on Apple and Google?! In January, Bloomberg reported that Starlink and T-Mobile are collaborating with Apple to implement software updates that will allow iPhones to connect directly to Musk's satellites.
What does this mean in practice?
That his service cannot work on any device like ASTS, but only on specially updated devices❌ that he depends on the goodwill of Apple and Google – and if they decide they want a percentage of the revenue (and they probably will), it will severely harm profitability❌
On March 31, reports were published that Apple independently approached a satellite communication provider to explore a joint path. Apple kicked Musk out and sought independence in the field of satellite communication. 💵
Musk was so angry that he started talking (again) about a self-made smartphone and entering into head-to-head competition with Apple...🔴
🔴 What is my personal conclusion for now?
Musk is falling behind! 🚕
1️⃣ He still doesn't have full technological proof of concept.
2️⃣ He doesn't have contracts with communication providers like ASTS does.
3️⃣ He is dependent on Apple and Samsung, which complicates his business model.
🤌 So wait, Elon, not so fast! 👈 Musk still hasn't proven it works. 🤐
👈 Starlink's satellites are not built to support smartphones as they are – at least not yet.
👈 Musk's system requires software updates for phones – meaning he will need the cooperation of Apple, Samsung, and Google (and also pay them quite a bit).
In short, while ASTS simply works with any existing phone, Musk is still stuck in the proof-of-concept stage.
🔥 So who will win the giant battle? ✔️ ASTS has proven technology, huge customers, and strong capital.
✔️ Musk, as usual, is trying to close the gap, but he has a lot of work to do.
But Musk is Musk 🤺 – he won't give up so easily... ⛈
This David and Goliath battle will likely be decided by the end of 2025 ⏳
- And the question is whether the world will go with ASTS's solution, or if Musk will manage to work his magic and conquer this field too?
🔮 What's certain is that the coming year will be critical for the battle over satellite communication. Worth following!😀
