Significant announcement about a new contract between Apple and Micron soon?
Quietly, something very different happened over the weekend,
Micron posted on its website a quote from Apple CEO, Tim Cook:
"For over 20 years, Micron has been an important partner providing memory technologies for Apple's innovative products that people around the world love and use every day,
With the launch of Micron's research labs, Micron will continue to lead significant breakthroughs in memory and computing for decades to come, building on a legacy of leadership in chip research,
Apple strongly believes in American innovation and we are proud to support the expansion of Micron's advanced manufacturing and research and development capabilities in the United States."
This is very interesting, because Apple and Micron have recently been in a struggle,
Micron's CEO spoke explicitly against Apple,
and said that after Apple always pushed them to the wall...
they saw no reason to give them priority over other companies - Apple even turned at one point to Chinese suppliers to get cheaper supply.
