At AMD's 2025 Financial Analyst Day, which took place last night, Dr. Lisa Su, the company's CEO and Chair, unveiled a long-term vision positioning AMD at the heart of the AI and high-performance computing revolution.

Is AMD the next Nvidia?

Lisa revealed that AMD aims for an average annual growth (CAGR) of over 35% in revenue in the coming years, with a clear emphasis on data centers as having the greatest potential to generate most of the growth.

AMD's growth vision: a new era of computing power. Lisa Su announced that demand for artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure remains exceptionally strong, and customers are not reducing investments – on the contrary, AMD expects a global data center market of over $1 trillion by 2030, compared to approximately $200 billion in 2025, with an annual growth rate of over 40%.

According to her: “AMD is entering a new era of growth based on a leading technology roadmap and increasing momentum in artificial intelligence. This is the strongest moment in AMD's history.” Long-term financial targets (2025–2030) are exceptionally high: Revenue growth: CAGR of over 35% Gross margin: between 55%–58% Operating margin: over 35% Effective tax rate: between 13%–15% Free cash flow margin: approximately 25% Earnings per share (EPS): over $20 (compared to Wall Street's forecast of only $10.18).

Key drivers: more profitable product mix, cost improvements, operational leverage, and economies of scale.

Data center segment – the main growth engine: Average annual growth of over 80%. Server CPU market share expected to exceed 50%. The AMD Instinct™ MI350 series is considered the fastest-growing product in the company's history, already integrated with cloud giants like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The Helios system (with MI450 cards) will arrive in Q3 2026, offering industry-leading performance and bandwidth. A new generation MI500 will launch in 2027 and expand AI capabilities globally. The new EPYC™ Venice processor is expected to lead in combining performance, density, and energy efficiency, with advanced connectivity via Pensando™ Pollara and Vulcano AI NIC network cards.

Open software – ROCm™. AMD's open software platform is growing exponentially – with download rates several times higher than the previous year.

Each version significantly improves performance and functionality, strengthening the company's open ecosystem against Nvidia.

Clients and gaming: The AI PC portfolio has grown 2.5 times compared to 2024. Ryzen™ powers over 250 laptop and desktop platforms. More than half of Fortune 100 companies already use Ryzen-based processors. The Gorgon and Medusa series are expected to increase AI performance by up to 10 times compared to last year.

Embedded & Semi-Custom segment: AMD has the largest portfolio in the industry: FPGAs, embedded x86 processors, and semi-custom solutions. Since 2022, design wins totaling over $50 billion have been secured. The goal – to accelerate AI-driven growth from edge to cloud.

Technological leadership – Infinity Fabric Generation 5. Innovations in chiplet architecture, interconnects, packaging, and an open ecosystem that maximize efficiency and performance.

AMD shares its full roadmap: x86 processors, GPUs for data centers and gaming, and NPUs (dedicated artificial intelligence processors).

Strategic targets by segment

Data centers: CAGR (average annual growth) of over 60%. Server CPU market share over 50%. CAGR of over 80% in AI.

Clients and gaming: Market share target of over 40% in PCs, continued growth in third-generation AMD-based consoles.

Embedded and adaptive computing: Market share target of over 70%. Expanding market share in x86 processors and semi-custom chips.

AMD's broad vision. AMD continues to lead innovation for over 55 years in high-performance computing, graphics, and AI.

Its products are used by billions of people, large corporations, and research institutions worldwide.

The company focuses on expanding the boundaries of what's possible through the integration of “high-performance products” and “adaptive computing” – a vision that positions it at the forefront of the global AI revolution.

The company positions itself as one of the main candidates to lead the next AI era, with aggressive targets, continuous innovation, and growth forecasts that challenge the biggest competitors.

The focus on Data Centers, leadership in AI, and the combination of hardware and open software – do all these create the powerful mix that could make AMD the AI leader in the coming decade?
