Is money flowing into the American market?

New peaks of optimism

In the last three months, we have witnessed an unusual phenomenon in the financial markets.

Investors are pouring huge sums into exchange-traded funds (instruments that track stock indices) in the United States, with a cumulative amount of over $400 billion.

To understand the magnitude of the event, it is worth looking at several key figures:

1. Dazzling growth rate: The amount of money entering the market has doubled since August 2025.

We are currently at a peak that surpasses the previous peak from April 2021 by an additional $177 billion.

2. January breaks records: The rate at which money entered these funds during January is 5 times higher than the usual average.

This indicates a massive rush by the public towards American stocks at the beginning of the year.

3. Bets on rises versus falls: Investors are not just buying stocks; they are doing so with very high confidence.

Leveraged ETFs (those designed to increase profit when the market rises, but also increase risk) currently manage a record sum of $145 billion.

In contrast, funds betting on market declines hold only $12 billion.

This means the ratio between those betting on rises and those expecting declines stands at 12 to 1 – the highest ratio ever recorded.

The picture emerging from the data is clear: investors' risk appetite is at a peak.

Traders are showing confidence in continued gains, pouring capital into the American market at an unprecedented rate with extensive use of leverage.
