Good morning friends, a geopolitical update from the Hot Stocks Alerts research desk
Over the weekend, there was another escalation in the Iranian sector, after the Iranians attacked ships with drones, and the United States retaliated against Iranian targets
Behind the scenes, this time the conflict is over the "Omani route"
Iran is very determined to take control of the passage in the Strait of Hormuz, and therefore, as a first step, it demands that every passing ship undergo an Iranian approval process.
But this is precisely the problematic point - in the Strait of Hormuz there are two passages in the Iranian section
1. Iranian passage
2. And Omani passage
Oman cooperates with the United States and grants ships free passage,
Iran prohibits ships from passing through the Omani passage without Iranian approval
Oman, in response, claims that Iran has no right over the passage located in its territory
The Iranians, in response, attack the passing ships
Now, pay close attention to the development happening right now
According to images from ship and aircraft tracking applications, the United States is currently conducting an escort operation for four ships in the Omani passage
4 ships, traveling at an enormous speed of 16 knots (compared to an average of 10-12 knots) in the Omani passage
At the same time, the aircraft movement tracking application shows that the ships are escorted by US fighter jets and drones.
The United States is essentially saying - "The Omani passage remains free" and provides military escort to the ships.
This is a very significant statement!
It is very important to follow these developments closely, as they will have a significant impact on the markets!
Meanwhile, weekend futures are unchanged, as markets continue to price in a continued ceasefire and no significant escalation.
