Interesting developments this morning
Overnight, the United States carried out an airstrike on Larak Island in Iran, destroying missile launch sites and Iranian mine-laying teams.
Iran confirmed that 2 Revolutionary Guard soldiers were killed and several civilians were injured.
Iran responded: "The Trump regime made a grave mistake, and this attack will be met with a response, and the US will be punished."
The response was not long in coming – the Iranians attacked two American bases in Jordan with ballistic missiles – all missiles were intercepted.
And then, after all this, came Trump's attached tweet, in which he uploaded a video (AI, of course) of the strategic Iranian island of Kharg being destroyed from the air.
A serious threat.
Meanwhile, US markets are not really reacting, futures on the leading indices are green...
Either the market understands that this is not an escalation – or it finally understands that Trump truly has the upper hand here.
