U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell disclosed yesterday that she sold approximately $115,000 of her Apple ($AAPL) stock.

It is worth noting that Congresswoman Dingell sits on the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology.

That same committee is marking on Thursday a major bill in which it will discuss the sensitive issue of data privacy for Big Tech companies.

Large business groups across the U.S. strongly oppose the proposed legislation and are speaking out against it, claiming the legislation would ban commonly used targeted advertising tools.

Meanwhile, Kara Frederick, Director of the Heritage Foundation's Tech Policy Center, said a few days ago:

“This comprehensive surveillance, powered by Big Tech’s extensive data collection capabilities, has spawned a host of threats that undermine our fundamental rights and values. It’s time to put Big Tech on notice and tell them that the gravy train built on the backs of Americans and our children is over.”
